Salary Survey - Coming this Fall!

Members have asked for it, and it is definitely useful to have; an online Salary Survey will be coming this fall to your email box. It is very important that as many members as possible participate so that the APGO can provide you, the members, with statistically significant data. As you are aware, the more individuals that respond to the survey, the more reliable the data. Please make sure that you respond, and encourage all members that you are in contact with to respond as well. Please read on for features of this secure online survey.

An independent, third party firm, InfoFeedback Survey Services Inc, which specializes in online surveys, has been hired to conduct the survey on behalf of both APGO and L'Ordre des Géologues du Québec (OGQ). All identifying information, with the exception of information which the member may include in a comment area, will be removed from the data by InfoFeedback and will not be provided to APGO or OGQ.

An email will be sent to members in the fall by InfoFeedback. The email will include a direct link to the survey questionnaire. The survey will include features such as:
  • A secure, encrypted questionnaire site – to protect your privacy and your data
  • The ability to skip over questions and sections that do not apply to you
  • Dropdown lists from which to choose some of the answers
  • Save and Take a Break feature – Should you find that you are not able to complete the survey at one sitting, or if you are interrupted, you will be able to save the portion you have already completed and return to the questionnaire at your convenience.
  • The ability to pre-populate the answer fields, should you choose the option, for the salary survey that will be conducted in 2010. The pre-population of the fields will then save you time when completing the survey two years from now. Note: This data will be securely saved by InfoFeedback for the 2010 survey and will not be viewed by either APGO or OGQ. As a final security, in 2010 you will be asked for permission to implement the pre-population feature for your survey.
  • A toll free number to call should you require assistance with the questionnaire.
To make sure that you will receive your email with the online salary survey link, please "white list" InfoFeedback by putting info@infofeedback.com in your email address book.

Once the survey is closed, InfoFeedback will analyze the data and produce both a full report and an executive summary report. The full report will be made available at no charge to all members who complete the survey. An executive summary report will be made available at no charge to all members who did not complete the summary. For those members who chose not to complete the survey, the full report will be available for a fee.

The information in this report will be useful to all. I encourage all members to participate so that a meaningful report may be produced which will aid both employer and employee/consultant alike as we move forward in our profession.
