While APGO recognizes the value of technical sessions, one can not underestimate the power of superior presentations. One of the leading experts in natural hazards and disasters in North America, we first heard Dr. Stephen Evan’s compelling lecture about Natural Disasters and Geology at the University of Waterloo during APGO’s South West Regional Networking event. While Dr. Evan’s talk will outline five perspectives on linkages between geology and natural disasters, it goes further to highlight the “contribution of geoscience knowledge in mitigating disaster losses.” You don’t want to miss this session!
