APGO New Staff Member – Marilen Miguel

APGO welcomes Marilen Miguel to a newly created staff position: Coordinator, Member Services and Stakeholder Relations. Marilen has a wealth of experience in different non-government organizations (NGO) building partnerships and supporting advisory groups at local and provincial levels around implementation aspect of publicly funded provincial training initiatives.

Marilen’s responsibilities will include: Initiate and organize regional meetings with members; support APGO’s education and CPD initiatives; event planning; and stakeholder relations. Marilen has worked part-time for APGO since April and we are pleased that she has committed to staying and being part of APGO’s evolution.

APGO intends to reach out and communicate with its members face-to-face more often. This is the best way to understand the issues and concerns members’ have and to develop agreed upon strategies to move forward. APGO also intends to work more collaboratively with stakeholder groups in order to raise APGO’s profile in our geo community for the benefit of our membership and allied organizations. Creating this new role is one of our first steps towards this outcome.
